Monitor: -------------- [*] The logic of initial program start is changed. Now after the installation of ViPNet Client (or ViPNet Coordinator) and rebooting the system, ViPnet Monitor does not start automatically and IP traffic protection is not activated, because the key set is not installed yet. It means that in the process of computer reboot IP traffic is not blocked (as it was in the previous versions). Instead of that a window with instructions appear giving the hints on what should be done to install the key set. Such logic is rather helpful in case of remote installation of ViPNet Client (or ViPNet Coordinator) on the nonsupervised PCs, meaning the computers which are not operated by an actual user (direct access to which is not available). According to new logic after ViPNet software installation and system reboot, access to the remote computer is not blocked and key set can be installed remotely and trouble-free. [+] The tunnelling ViPNet Coordinator is supplemented with a visual notification system about blocked IP packets for the tunneled IP addresses when the number of the simultaniously tunnelled IP addresses exceeds the amount set up in ViPNet Manager. [*] The logic of the service information distribution is improved to reduce the traffic assosiated with it and for the constant monitoring of the up-to-date information about the network nodes status reflected in the Private Network window. [*], [+] The logic of virtual addressing is changed for the newly added single tunnelled addresses. The logic of virtual addressing for the range of real tunnelled IP addresses remained the same. [*] Some improvements were made to deliver CISCO IP-telephony functioning which ensure the joint-functioning of CISCO IP-telephony together with ViPNet networks using virtual IP addresses. [*] While working under Vista OS "lock desktop" option by means of ViPNet is temporary unavailable. ***************************************************************************************************** ViPNet Client and Coordinator Version ViPNet 2.8 (11.1825) SP5 A 14.02.2007 Business Mail -------------- [*]The autoprocessing configuration mechanism has changed: - Now in the autoprocessing rules settings window (Options/Autoprocessing) it is possible to edit the rules order (the sequence in which the rules run). Sorting the autoprocessing rules by name is no longer available. - For each rule we create (for file and incoming mail processing), it is possible to set an option "Stop further rules processing". This option influences the autoprocessing rules implementation in the following manner: The rules are implemented in the order specified in Options/Autoprocessing window. [*] The working logic of the option "Update without warnings" in Settings\Advanced settings window is now different. If the option is on, update will run automatically without any notification, as soon as updates are received, if only the instant chat or conference windows are not in the foreground of your screen. ***************************************************************************************************** ViPNet Manager Version 1.4 (0.1625) 15.08.2006 [+] ViPNet Manager supports a centralized remote update of ViPNet software (ViPNet Client and ViPNet Coordinator) on ViPNet network nodes. In addition, it is possible to setup date and time of the update coming into effect. [*] Improvement of the key sets generation process and the remote key sets’ update: – after finishing the process of key sets generation, the program gives recommendations for the further network administrator’s actions, - the list of situations when the program notifies administrator of the possible problem in the future while sending the key sets and suggests the further actions is extended. [+] ViPNet Manager keeps the log of updates – key sets updates and ViPNet software updates. Information about the updates is recorded in a special text file offmupdate.log, which can be reached from the main program menu. [+] Addition of the possibility to roll back to the previous ViPNet network configuration version and the previous ViPNet Manager program settings by using the backup copies which were created automatically by the program or manually by the ViPNet Manager administrator. [*] The toolbar and the main program menu are changed and improved. [*] The Network Creation Wizard interface is improved. [+] Now it is possible to change the license not only within the fixed configuration of the ViPNet OFFICE or ViPNet TUNNEL software products, but also to extend it until any needed ViPNet network configuration. ***************************************************************************************************** ViPNet Client and Coordinator Version ViPNet 2.8 (11.1584) SP2 [*] MFTP was patched which resulted in traffic reduction and consequently the load on network nodes decrease. [+] The MFTP packet routing was improved by adding settings on the Coordinator, which allow sending MFTP packets to network nodes registered on the Coordinator from another ViPNet network directly through this Coordinator, not through the gateway Coordinator as it was in the previous version. [+] The ViPNet Client or Coordinator have an integration with external remote desktop access applications, such as Windows Remote Desktop Connection, (Windows Terminal Server Client) and VNC. The user can call these applications from an “External programs” menu in ViPNet. [+] The ViPNet user can decrease MSS value in case, if it is required (in the “Advanced settings” window). Such necessity may arise in case of a DSL modem connection. It is now impossible to decrease MTU value in the ViPNet Settings. [+] A filter is added to the Public Network in order to allow passing of the incoming and outgoing ICMP packets with type 3 and code 4 for all the unregistered IP addresses. This filter is required for a proper computer operating with network equipment (such as some types of DSL modems or Wireless devices), on which MTU value may be set less than a standard value for Ethernet networks.
