Create Other Configurations

This topic applies to both ViPNet Coordinator and ViPNet Client.

The Configurations window allows you to create one or more configuration sets for this installation of ViPNet [Monitor]. After the configurations are created, you can activate the configuration you want at the time.

When you start the program for the first time, only one configuration called 'Main Configuration' is created. This configuration, which contains default settings, is the current configuration. It's impossible to rename and delete this configuration.

To add other configurations to the program:

1. Right-click Configurations and select Create new configuration from the pop-up menu.

   

   A new folder called 'New configuration' is created.

2. To re-name the folder, right-click it and select Rename from the pop-up menu.
3. Make the necessary settings for ViPNet [Monitor].
4. When you have finished, right-click the folder and select Save current configuration from the pop-up menu. The program will ask you to confirm that you want to save the configuration. Click Yes.
5. Repeat the above process until you have created as many configurations as you need.
6. To make one of the configurations the current (active) configuration, right-click the folder and select Set current configuration from the pop-up menu. The current configuration appears in the bold.

   

   The next time the user starts up their Monitor program, they will be asked to select the required configuration:
