Administer Remote Computers

This topic applies to both ViPNet Coordinator and ViPNet Client.

The Monitor program allows you to work on the remote computer of a ViPNet user, using external programs of remote access such as Remote Administrator (Radmin), VNC or Remote Desktop Connection.

To run such a program:

  1. Click the Private Network link on the left of the screen.
  2. Right-click a ViPNet user from the right-hand list that displays and select External Programs > <external program> from the pop-up menu.

The menu items are active if the selected programs are installed on your computer. What's more, the user with whom you want to work, must have a non-zero IP address and their computer must be have the corresponding server software installed, set and launched (eg. Radmin Server, VNC Server).

If all above conditions are satisfied, a connection window will appear. If a connection is established, a password window appears. If the password is successful, access is provided to the remote user's computer.
